I don't know about you but I need things to look forward to.
A new book, a new restaurant, a vacation. And as we face our second snow day here in a row and the kids are crawling up the walls - I am really looking forward to being on a beach in Martha's Vineyard August 7 & 8 later this year with you and JP fans from around the country.
When we started creating Destination Shows in 2009, we simply wanted to create events that we would want to go to - events that we'd be proud to take our wives or families or friends to - in places that we love.
We've been to some extraordinary places and we've been able to create some amazing memories for thousands of people from 35 states.
And over time I have realized that I love to build them and I love to look forward to them.
Martha's Vineyard, an island 10 miles off the coast of Cape Cod, MA, is simply the quintessential New England experience. It's the original. Over 300 years old, it has a beauty and history that just has to be experienced in person. I ran there with a broken heart in 1991 and ended up writing one of our most well-known songs, "Vineyard." (and yes - our Destination Show is actually being held overlooking the water in Oak Bluffs!)
The Vineyard has rolling hills of farmland, gorgeous endless beaches, bike paths, idyllic New England towns and activities for everyone. We have been blessed to have gone around the world and we count Martha's Vineyard as one of our favorite places on earth.
We created Destination Shows to give you the excuse you might need for a getaway - the excuse you might need to have something to look forward to.
Our show August 8 sold out TEN MONTHS in advance and August 7 is on track to sell out soon, too. And with the way our wine is selling, our Destination Show on Martha's Vineyard may be the last place on earth to drink the 2012 vintage of our Weather Pinot Noir.
So will you join us? Will you give yourself something to look forward to?
We hope you do!
